Being Freed From All Sense Desires Is Not Born Again Into This World

Karaniya Metta Sutta:

The Buddha's Words on Loving-Kindness

 On account of the spiritual ability of their meditation, the tree deities could not stay in their copse-abodes above the monks, and so they had to come down to the basis. Realizing that the monks would spend the whole rainy season there, the deities were much annoyed. So they tried to scare the monks away during the nighttime by harassing them in various ways.After living under such impossible conditions for one-time, the monks could not conduct it whatever longer and rushed dorsum to the Buddha and informed him about their difficulties. So the Buddha advised them to recite the text of loving kindness (Metta Sutta) and to radiate the spirit of love to all beings.Encouraged by this soapbox, the monks returned to their respective places. They practised in accordance with the instructions given them to permeate the entire atmosphere with radiant thoughts of dear, The tree-deities were much pleased to exist afflicted past the power of dearest, and so let the monks (meditators) stay without any further disturbances.

This is what should exist doneBy i who is skilled in goodness,And who knows the path of peace:Let them be able and upright,Straightforward and gentle in speech communication,Humble and not complacent,Contented and easily satisfied,Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways.Peaceful and calm and wise and skillful,Non proud or enervating in nature.Let them not do the slightest thingThat the wise would subsequently reprove.Wishing: In gladness and in rubber,May all beings be at ease.Whatever living beings at that place may be;Whether they are weak or potent, omitting none,The corking or the mighty, medium, brusk or small-scale,The seen and the unseen,Those living well-nigh and far away,Those born and to-be-born —May all beings be at ease!Let none deceive another,Or despise whatever being in any state.Let none through acrimony or ill-willWish harm upon another.Even as a mother protects with her lifeHer child, her only kid,Then with a boundless heartShould one cherish all living beings;Radiating kindness over the unabridged world:Spreading up to the skies,And down to the depths;Outwards and unbounded,Freed from hatred and ill-will.Whether standing or walking, seated or lying downFree from drowsiness,I should sustain this recollection.This is said to exist the sublime abiding.Past non belongings to fixed views,The pure-hearted one, having clarity of vision,Existence freed from all sense desires,Is not born again into this globe.

This is to be washed by one skilled in aimswho wants to break through to the country of peaceBe capable, upright, & straightforward,easy to instruct, gentle, & not conceited,content & easy to support,with few duties, living lightly,with peaceful faculties, masterful,modest, & no greed for supporters.Do non do the slightest thingthat the wise would later censure.Recall: Happy, at rest,may all beings exist happy at eye.Whatever beings there may be,weak or potent, without exception,long, large,middling, short,subtle, blatant,seen & unseen,near & far,born & seeking birth:May all beings be happy at centre.Let no one deceive anotheror despise anyone anywhere,or through anger or irritationwish for another to suffer.As a mother would risk her lifeto protect her child, her only child,even and then should one cultivate a limitless heartwith regard to all beings.With good will for the entire cosmos,cultivate a limitless heart:Higher up, below, & all effectually,unobstructed, without enmity or hate.Whether standing, walking,sitting, or lying down,as long as one is alert,ane should be resolved on this mindfulness.This is chosen a sublime abidinghere & at present.Not taken with views,but virtuous & consummate in vision,having subdued desire for sensual pleasures,one never againwill lie in the womb.
